Ready to play

Ellie's ready to play now, but even being pushed around in her wheelchair can quickly exhaust her. It doesn't diminish her enthusiasm though! She gets in some fun before she needs to rest. The pain is managable and her white blood cell count is up quite a bit. She will receive a plasma transfusion tomorrow. Then hopefully sometime next week, she'll be able to go home! She'll have some days/weeks of recovery there before the next chemo round.

Today Stan and Pat spent the afternoon with Ellie at the hospital while Sarah got a much needed break by attending a baby shower for a good friend. Stan and Pat had some great quality time with Ellie, and Sarah got some relaxation and laughs. Ethan spent the day with friends too.

Praise God for His constant provision and love and that Ellie is improving!

Please pray:

1.) For Ellie's healing and that all will go well for her to go home soon.

2.) For wisdom and strength for John and Sarah.

3.) For comfort and security for Ethan.

4.) For strength and comfort for family members who are helping in different ways.

dHi Ellie,
My name is Cindy and I have two kids, Kayla and Kevin, ages 9 and 7. I told them about you and we have been praying for you and your family. We pray for a different family everyday before we start our homeschool. Several times we have checked your blog to get updates on how you are doing so we know exactly how to pray for you. My little girl is growing her hair out and wants to donate it to Locks of Love. She said, "Maybe I could send it to Ellie and they could make a wig for her." I know it must be hard, but we are encouraged by your good attitude. Keep looking to Jesus for your strength, and we will keep praying for you!

Hi Ellie, Ethan, John & Sarah!

Ellie, Mr. Whatley & I are praying for you! I'm so glad you have Alex. to be your best friend during this painful time.

John & Sarah, we, as are others, praying for you during this time. I have been praying for strength as you adjust to this new turn of events in your personal lives. That as you deal and cope with the emotions you face as a family, and for comforting ways to encourage and uplift your children and each other. May you be sensitive to each others needs and ways of facing difficult obstacles, quick to forgive and be forgiven. I've been praying for God to encourage you through others and in ways that only you know will mean a lot to you. Love you! (Sending caring flag signals from the avacado tree....)

Hi Ellie,
I'm sending your updates to family members who knew your mom in Panama as well as to an e-mail prayer chain and keeping an update in our churches' intercessory prayer room. LOTS of people are praying for you! One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 41:10. Marian Woodhead
