Ellie Bagged a Buck!
Ellie's greatest joy these days is shooting people with a suction cup dart gun. She pops out at the most unexpected times. Her latest prize...Uncle Freddie! (She really did shoot him...she said that she was just aiming for somewhere that it would stick!) Some thanks for all of the work he's been doing on our house.

Hello! This is Elizabeth Skees in Lexington, KY. I'm the daughter of David Skees, who was Hilary's son. I just now have a computer and have spent some time tonight scanning this blog that I've heard about for months. WOW is all i can say. my heart is warm with this great opportunity to connect and know about family i would otherwise probably not. I'm so glad to read about ellie's progress- all the ups and downs. Last August I made a decision to follow Christ...my heart just cried (with joy and encouragement) as i read the ways he's guiding you and how he is your refuge. THank you so much for this Blog- I'm serious. my heart is now connected by your stories and i will definately be praying for you all. it's great to know that we really can trust God for the provision of the people we love. and thanks for the pictures! i'm gonna pray Philippians 4:6-7 for you all..."don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God all you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. his peace will guard your hearts and mind as you live in Christ Jesus." keep posting!
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! Did you know that Ellie's name is actually Elizabeth?...another Elizabeth Skees! (It's Elizabeth Anne Skees - we've called her Ellie since birth.) I'm so happy to have you as a new sister in Christ - welcome to the family. I'm glad you have been encouraged by this blog...it has been my greatest desire, that as people read they can see how human and fraile we are, but how big and powerful God is! Thank you so much for the encouragement...those verses are exactly what I needed to be reminded of! By the way...did we meet at the Skees reunion some years ago (maybe 10 years...)? I met so many people that day and it was so long ago - John and I had been married at least a couple of years, but didn't have children yet. In any case, it's great to connect with more of John's family...there are so many, but the more the merrier I say! (I haven't met any yet that I didn't love.) Thanks so much for posting. Love, Sarah
