We will always remember Ellie for her love for others, her creativity, sensitivity, and delight in life! Ellie's light has spread far and wide... may it continue to shine in our hearts.

Home At Last...

I just wanted to let you know that we have made it home to Montana! We arrived yesterday afternoon. It's good to be back, but we did enjoy seeing all of the family and friends in Florida. Everyone was so wonderful to us! John went to work today, and will work tomorrow and Sunday as well. The best word for how we feel right now is exhausted. I slept in - in between getting up to get Ethan food, juice, a movie, etc... He finally pounced me at 9:45 a.m. - he'd had enough of my lazy ways! No matter - I moved to the easy chair with a cup of tea and spent the day in front of the T.V. Ahhhhhhh. There was a warm fire and snow was falling outside the windows all day... so beautiful!

Well... that's about it for now. We are doing as well as we can. Some things were a little difficult when it came to returning to a place that has Ellie's fingerprints all over it. But I guess that's how it felt to return to Florida. Ellie's mark seems to be imprinted upon everything we see. Our tears flowed a number of times yesterday.

I will write more when I'm able, but I plan on just relaxing for a time. Thank you so much for all of your prayer for our family. We need it so badly!

Sarah,

It is good to hear that you all arrived safely.

Our prayers and thoughts continue to be with each of you daily.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Psalm 91:4

A Child Of God

With ev'ry breath, with ev'ry thought
From what is seen, to the deepest part
I offer all that I've come to be
To know Your love fathering me

Father, You're all I need
My soul's sufficiency
My Strength when I am weak
The love that carries me
Your arms enfold me
Till I am only
a child of God

With ev'ry step on this journey's walk
And wisdom's songs
that the soul has sought
I give myself unreservedly
To know Your love fathering me

Father, You're all I need
My soul's sufficiency
My Strength when I am weak
The love that carries me
Your arms enfold me
Till I am only,
a child of God

Glad you are home. SO glad you are taking time to just BE. Take as much time to relax/rest as you need. You have been through the most traumatic experience. We are praying for you and I think about you often throughout each day, especially as I look at my 3 kids and wonder how on earth I would cope if in your shoes. BUT GOD. He is able.

May He bless you dear precious Skees family.

Love all the way from the UK

Sarah - praise God for your safe travels! I'm glad you are getting to rest somewhat; sofa time and tea are perfect. Your time to adjust and be home again will not be easy. When you're really down know that everyone is praying for you, John, Ethan and your Montana and Florida families. All this love and caring stems from your precious little girl. She must be looking down on your all, and reading the posts and saying "Wow!!" "Look, Lord, all the glory is yours." Take care of yourself.

Hi friends,

I found out about your website through the Sumrall family. They are friends of ours here in Charlotte. Your beautiful words and pictures touched me deeply. Ellie is a precious child and I rejoice that she was raised in a family who loves the Lord and will be together for all eternity!

I, too, am from Montana. I grew up in Missoula and my parents now reside in Billings. I have been out there quite frequently b/c my mother has been fighting a malignant brain tumor. (Glioblastoma Multiforme). I know first hand of the surgeries, waiting, hard news from doctors, and crying out to the Lord. May the Lord give you strength in the coming days!

YOur sister in Christ,

Kendra Husband

Sarah,
I was so excited to return from our trip this weekend to find an update. Our weekend was full of "Ellie" moments. On Friday night we watched the Pixar short films and laughed at the ones that were her favorites. My mom told us of going to the vet on Friday and a guy walked in with a very timid snow leopard. Bailey perked right up as she was holding the stuffed snow leopard that was Ellie's. Ellie is alive in the heart of my little Bailey!
I am so glad that you made it home safely. As I was cleaning my house on Friday, I pictured you sipping tea and watching the snow fall. I can only imagine how thankful everyone is in that house to have you all back. You are all being bathed in prayer! Much loves to Ethan and hope to see you when my cold goes away!

I was so honored to meet you as well as Ethan. Amanda & Timmy had so much fun playing with Ethan, and I enjoyed our time together. He is such an amazing little guy, you are truly blessed. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers.

God Bless...
