Please pray

Sarah has asked me (Kim) to pass on the latest information to you all. Ellie went in to surgery this afternoon at 2:30 with the doctors planning on removing her old broviac and replacing it with a new one. They had trouble geting her stabilized enough to do that, but were finally successful. When the new broviac was put in, it caused some internal bleeding. This caused the cascade of events that followed. Around 4:00, Ellie went into septic shock and was given Dopamine to try to raise her blood pressure. An hour or so later, Ellie had to be "aggressively resuscitated", but is now "holding her own". The family there can tell that she is fighting with everything that she has. She has been sedated and is on a ventilator and will remain like that until her systems normalize. When she is stable enough, they will move her to the ICU. Please pray for Ellie and all the family.

Hello Skees family,

I've yet to post to this site; however, I've been reading for some time now. I was sent Ellie's site from my niece and nephew who attend New Tribes Mission School in Jackson, Michigan. I have been so touched by your story, and have been praying for your faith to remain strong during this entire ordeal, and for Ellie's continued peace, and healing. After reading today's post, I am particularly moved. I know you may not have the chance to read our son's carepage (www.carepages.com)right now, however, please know, we have been in this nearly exact situation just a few months ago. Our son, Alex Wiser (20 months), was dx with JMML (rare form of luekemia) last year. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in the summer. In the fall, after many complications, Alex was also septic and admitted to ICU for five weeks. God granted us wisdom, strength, peace, and comfort during this difficult time. Through our carepages, you can also see how God carried us through and how the astounding amount of prayers for our son encouraged and blessed us. If you get the chance to read it, I pray it will encourage you. God gives peace and love wrapped in His arms that can come from no other source. What an amazing God He alone is. Tonight we prayed for God's miraculous healing of your precious Ellie. We prayed for strength and peace to surround your room, and for God to grant you the strength you need to walk through this valley.

All I know to pray are things that human eyes can imagine...so I am praying that God will wrap His arms around all of you together with Ellie, and that you will feel His loving presence and know He does all things well. And I am praying for His healing power in Ellie's body. And since He can do more than I can ask or think, I am asking Him to do that also.

We have been following your journal nightly. I am just sick to my stomach about all that you guys are having to go through. I am so sorry we are really praying hard for your family. Oh dear ones... There are no words, just prayers. Prayers for the drs to stabilize Ellie, prayers for strength for the family and prayers for little Miss Ellie to beat this disease completely.

My husband and I attended the event for Ellie at Walk On Water a while back. It was only after receiving an email by mistake that I knew about Ellie. I was able to speak with your sister or maybe your or sister in-law about Ellie that night. My husband gave her his business card to give to John if he ever needed any help. At any rate... ever since that night, we have been following along and praying for all of you. Ellie has become a familiar name here in our home. It was just yesterday that my husband asked me...how is Ellie? I just wanted you to know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Your family truly is an inspiration. Heather
